Windows 8.1 is an update to the Windows 8 operating system and contains features that are not in the G8. However, many people do not like Windows 8 due to the fact that users are imposed with a tiled interface, which is clearly superfluous on a computer without a touchscreen. At the same time, such familiar and convenient options as the Start menu, window transparency, gadgets were removed ... Therefore, m0nkrus decided to make a stable build of Windows 8.1 with elements of Windows 7.
Many people do not like Windows 8.x due to the fact that users are directly imposed with a tiled interface, which is clearly superfluous on a computer without a touchscreen. At the same time, such familiar and convenient options as the Start menu, window transparency, gadgets were removed ... It seems that if the developers eliminated these omissions, there would be much more hunters to use Windows 8.x! But alas, ah, Microsoft does not care about the aspirations of users. Therefore, third-party software vendors have come to the fore, who, as best they could, "restored what was lost." But they did it with varying degrees of success. And sometimes, alas, such crafts simply ruined the system. How to choose here? How to choose the best?
Here is an assembly that, in addition to auto-activation, includes all updates available as of March 1, 2017, as well as the best, in the opinion of m0nkrus, programs for restoring the Start menu, Aero transparency, and the ability to use desktop gadgets. That is why m0nkrus called the assembly SevenMod - it has a number of functions that were available in Windows 7 but lost in Windows 8.x! In principle, m0nkrus could go further in modding. You could remove the ribbon interface from Explorer, you could install a theme that completely repeats the look of Windows 7, you could completely block access to the tiled Metro interface. But why? m0nkrus sees no reason to permanently strip Windows 8.1 of its personality. My task was only to give users something
Major changes compared to Windows 8:
The start button does not work as it does in Windows 7 and earlier versions of the OS. By clicking on the button, the user will not see the Start menu. Instead, depending on the system's settings, either the "Start" screen with "live tiles" or a list of all programs installed on the computer will open.
In Windows 8.1, you can skip the Start screen at system startup, getting to the desktop right away. In Windows 8, recall, the Start screen was first loaded, and only from there the user could go to the desktop. The background image on the Start screen can now be "live wallpaper" or desktop wallpaper.
Microsoft refined the search function. Now with its help you can find not only files and programs on your computer, but also search for information on the Internet through the Bing search engine. Search in SkyDrive and in applications is also supported, if application developers have allowed this.
"Live tiles" in Windows 8.1 can be four, not two, as in Windows 8, sizes. It has become more convenient to manage them: now "tiles" can be dragged from one place to another in groups, rather than individually. On one screen, it is now allowed to open up to four Metro applications simultaneously, and the sizes of application windows can be changed.
Internet Explorer has been updated to version 11. The new version is expected to support WebGL, SPDY, and improve the j?vascript object model and the ability to synchronize tabs.
Windows PowerShell v4.0: the new version will allow you to control the home screen, Windows Defender, Windows components, hardware and network components of the system.
Added Metro-applications "Alarm Clock", "Calculator", "Sound Recording", the video editor "Moments from films" (an application for performing the simplest operations with video) and a file manager. New versions of some applications for Windows 8.1 are also being developed. Added the ability to automatically update Metro applications. Many options and commands previously available only through the Desktop Control Panel have been added to the "PC Settings" application.
The ability to synchronize settings and other user data has also been significantly improved through a deeper integration of the synchronization service with the SkyDrive service.
The Charms panel also has some additional features, including sending a screenshot of the application and playing this content on other devices. The search feature has also been greatly improved and redesigned by integrating with the Bing search service.
The function "Pin applications" received support for several applications simultaneously on high-resolution screens (for example, three applications can be placed on a screen with a resolution of 1920x1080). The minimum resolution for Snap View to function is 1024x768 pixels.
The kernel version is NT 6.3 (Windows 8 used the NT 6.2 kernel).
Support for the new ReFS file system has appeared.
Improvements in energy consumption have appeared in Windows 8.1, in particular, a significant extension of operating time is expected on machines with new Intel Haswell processors

The build is based on Windows 8.1 distributions hosted on MSDN on December 15, 2014.
Critical updates are available in the assembly, available as of March 10, 2020, including the .NET Framework 4.8.
The assembly included support for the .NET Framework 3.5, and the \ sources \ sxs folder was removed from the distribution package, in which there were files to initialize the installation of this package.
The assembly is integrated with Microsoft Visual C ++ 2005, 2008, 2010, 2012, 2013 and 2019 Redistributable Package latest versions. To avoid duplicate installation by various applications of earlier versions and redirect programs that need these library packages to the latest versions, installation of obsolete versions is blocked by stubs (project [addon] Microsoft Visual C ++ 2005-2008-2010-2012-2013-2019 Redistributable Package x86 & x64 )

The WUFUC utility version 1.0.1.201 is integrated into the assembly, which removes the block from installing updates through Windows Update on computers with AMD Ryzen, Intel Kaby Lake and higher processors. Shortcuts for managing this utility are available in the Start menu.
The assembly has disabled a number of Microsoft services that are responsible for collecting telemetric data.
In the assembly, the anti-virus Meltdown and Specter virus fix (KB4056892) is disabled, which seriously slows down the system on many computers.
In the assembly, the call to the window of the first launch of Internet Explorer 11 and the Smart Screen service are disabled.
A tweak was applied to the assembly, adding the item "Device Manager" to the context menu "This computer".

In this assembly, the selection is made as usual, by clicking on the name of the editorial board in the list.

The system is installed immediately with Russian and English language packs. The choice of language during installation only affects which of the languages will be the main one. So at the end of the installation, you can easily change the interface language using standard OS tools (except for the Single Language edition) without downloading additional files.
A script has been added to the Single Language edition that allows you to switch the interface language from Russian to English and vice versa without losing a license.
The functionality of the boot menu is restored by pressing the F8 key. The F8 boot menu is displayed in text mode.
In the F8 boot menu, the "Download last successful configuration" item has been restored.
At the very early stage of the installation, there is a preboot menu in which you can select the bit depth of the primary shell, that is, which installer will be used, 32-bit or 64-bit. Thanks to this, there is no need to worry that the 64-bit version of the OS may not get on RAID, and that its users may be left without a system recovery service.
The inoperability of the Windows Memory Diagnostic (Memtest) utility accessible from the preboot menu has been resolved.
The Enterprise edition has been removed from the restriction due to which it was not possible to enter the serial number at the installation stage.
The editors of Professional with Media Center have been amended to enable activation of the key for Windows Media Center (WMC), which was distributed by the time and was distributed free of charge.
If during the installation of the system you entered a valid license key in the corresponding field, the system will be activated using this key for completely legitimate reasons. If the field is left blank, then alternative activation methods will be involved.
If during installation of the system you enter certain dummy keys (see FAQ), then the system will be installed without any activation. You may need this if you don't have a valid license key in your hands, but you will have it soon.
If during installation of the system you do not enter the key at all, the system will be activated automatically using the activator AAct 4.0 r1 Portable from Ratiborus with the installation of automatic reactivation every 10 days. At the same time, in addition to the "Start" menu, a shortcut will be added to the activator executable file under the name "KMS-activation". With this activator, you can activate not only Windows, but also Office 2010-2019 VL.
Minor improvements have been made to the installer interface, correcting flaws in Microsoft programmers.
Due to the technical features of the assembly, it is possible to install only the 64-bit version of Windows 8.1 from under the existing system. And only in the Custom installation mode.
Differences from the assembly of Windows 8.1 SevenMod RUS-ENG x86-x64 -20in1- Activated v2 (AIO):
The 32-bit installer used in previous versions of the assembly to install from under an existing system has been replaced with a 64-bit one.
Modified the installer to make it possible to use the answer file for the automatic installation of both 32-bit and 64-bit systems.
Critical updates are available in the assembly, available as of March 10, 2020, including the .NET Framework 4.8.
The WUFUC utility version 1.0.1.201 is integrated into the assembly, which removes the block from installing updates through Windows Update on computers with AMD Ryzen, Intel Kaby Lake and higher processors.
