You were a mechanic in the military and you want to work on civilian aircraft as an FAA certified A&P. You will need to know your Federal Aviation Regulation (FAR).
In this course we will be going over many topics you will need to know to navigate the Title 14 CFRs and aid you in passing your A&P licencing tests. You will know key terms, the dispensation of documents, your privileges and limitation under your rating, major and minor repairs and alterations along with many other important topics.
The course will be structured with lectures and Powerpoints over section in the FAR AMT book. Students will also be expected to do some independent reading. The FAR AMT book is required for this course and is a book I recommend keeping throughout your career.
The course will include several quizzes from the that will require your FAR AMT book to answer.
*** Update***
This course is a work in progress with new Parts on the way. In the coming weeks expect to see Parts 39 Airworthiness Directives and Part 43 Maintenance, Preventive Maintenance, Rebuilding, and Alteration. We will also take a step back from the Title 14 CFR and explore FAA.GOV and how to find important documentation you will have to be familiar with.
***Note***
Please note that this course is over the Federal Aviation Regulation (FAR) more specifically the Title 14 Code of Federal Regulations. This book governs the Federal Aviation Administration and sets the privileges and limitations of Aircraft Maintenance Technicians and Repairmen in the UNITED STATES (US) or United states based Air Carriers.
This course WILL NOT cover the technical (Hands On) side of Aircraft Maintenance and should be viewed as a study aid or exposure course to the FAR.
