Oracle Solaris 11.4.9.5.0 (x86/amd64) | 10.33 GB

Oracle Solaris 11.4 Support Repository Update (SRU) is a patch for Solaris 11.4. Every month there is a big update + there are emergency small fixes. The repository contains updated packages for x86-64 platforms.

The SRU is a cumulative update, i.e. enough to install the latter.

How to Update Your Local Repository
Download the SRU's IPS Repository Installation Guide and IPS Repository patches from MOS.
Perform the following steps to update your local system with the contents of the SRU zip file:
1.Become an administrator.
For more information, see How to Use Your Assigned Administrative Rights in Securing Users and Processes in Oracle Solaris 11.4.
2.Run the install-repo.ksh script that is included in the IPS Repository Installation Guide patch to update your existing repository.
$ install-repo.ksh [-c] [-v] -d full_path_to_existing_s11_4_repo
For example:
$ install-repo.ksh -c -v -d /export/support-repo
3.If the repository is managed by pkgserv, restart the appropriate service.
$ svcadm restart svc:/application/pkg/server:your_repo_instance
4.If an existing repository is not set, add the repository to the system.
$ pkg set-publisher -g file:///full_path_to_existing_s11_4_repo solaris
5.Update the packages.
$ pkg update
For more information about using the install-repo.ksh script, see the README-zipped-repo.txt file.

Hidden text
Some rake when updating, he himself passed, but others would not stumble.
1. If the error "reason: No version matching 'Includerate' dependency ..." pops up
give the command for the package
"# pkg change-facet facet.version-lock.consolidation = false / package_name"
2. If swears on "incorporation" (these are software packages in the Package Manager)
then open the "Assembly Manager" section "incorporation" in this section, whole sets of programs. Update each first to the version of the installed SRU. In the package description, in the "version" select the version of the connected SRU.
3. if you swear at the certificate "Chain was rooted in an untrusted self-signed certificate. The package involved is ...."
Then we solve this:
# cp / var / pkg / publisher / solaris / certs / 370b6b4fba7b0ad472465ffe9377f8f6040b2cfd /etc/certs/CA/temp-solaris-object-signing.pem
# svcadm restart system / ca-certificates
All three problems should be fixed with the repo "http://pkg.oracle.com/solaris/release/" disabled, only from the SRU.
Then we connect the repo [Misafirler Kayıt Olmadan Link Göremezler Lütfen Kayıt İçin Tıklayın ! ] and again # pkg update --accept. Must go upgrade.
Upgrading to 11.4 weighs approximately 1.6Gb and, depending on the channel, swings and is set for about an hour. Before rebooting, ask for the name of the new BE. I recommend before "# pkg update --accept" handles to create BE with a sane name, that is, the last BE at 11.3.
And one more rake.
Install the nVidia driver from 10xx and higher to 11.3 or when upgrading from 11.3 to 11.4 since neither in 11.3, nor when upgrading from 11.3 to 11.4 do these video cards work. In 11.3, there are no drivers for them and VESA is used, and when upgrading from 11.3 to 11.4, VESA remains.
We put stock 11.4 on a separate disk. The video card should work out of box. Run nvidia-xconfig.
In the / etc / X11 directory we see the received xorg.conf, save it to a USB flash drive (FAT32 flash drive).
At 11.3, roll the last SRU. Upgrading the system to 11.4.
Do not forget at the end to clearly name the new BE. As a result, we have BE 11.3 and 11.4.
After rebooting, at 11.4, if the screen is black, we extinguish the system through the power button (just press, and not kill, the system will turn itself off.)
Turn on, load GRUB, highlight the BE we need, that is 11.4 and press the "e" button on it.
In the line where "$ multiboot", at the end we add -s.
Mount the USB flash drive with xorg.conf, obtained with a fresh 11.4. (mount -F pcfs / dev / dsk / cXtXdXpX: c / mnt). Which cXtXdXpX will prompt "rmformat".
Copy xorg.conf to / usr / lib / X11 and rename it to xorg.conf.vesa. For example, mv /mnt/xorg.conf /etc/lib/X11/xorg.conf.vesa.
Reboot.
At 11.3, on the production system, simply copy and rename the xorg.conf.vesa "correct" xorg.conf to / usr / lib / X11
Reboot
